Wall Street Protest

We're mad as hell and we aren't going to take it anymore... Now all we need is a leader. The more that the cops try to slap down the protest, the more protesters seem to want to get involved. I wish I was a kid again. I would catch a bus to wall Street. They are finally protesting the right thing, Wall Street corruption. Why should we be ashamed of a "Class War"? Wall Street, long ago, launched an undeclared war on the working man. Sorry, I know that technically I am a business man, but if working people don't have jobs, I won't long have a business.

The populace of America is well aware that the wealth has been stolen by Wall Street. We are no longer going to be satisfied to live on Cake. If I were a Wall Street fat cat right now, I would be feeling a lot like Marie Antoinette. Their days are numbered. With the right leader, change will be as swift as a guillotine.

The Tea Party movement had promise in the beginning, because it was a true grass roots movement, but the Tea Party and the Republicans fell in love and ran off together. This latest movement will succeed, because it is founded in youth. Civil Rights succeeded because the youth of America was involved. The Viet Nam War was stopped by the young people.

I was watching Fox News this morning ( Yeah, I love the irony) They had a man that said that the kids are protesting Capitalism, and what the kids were advocating was Communism. The irony is that the "Capitalists" on Wall Street are partnered with China, a Communist country that can provide labor much cheaper than America, because they can control the value of their currency. China can always guarantee to deliver a cheaper product. America can NEVER truly compete with them. We need leaders that can regulate trade, and keep it in balance. We can't continue to borrow money from our children and give it to a Communist country.

This Wall Street movement will succeed in a heartbeat, as long as they don’t allow themselves to be hijacked by any Party. Not Democrat, not Republican, but some sort of a new party, and a new leader, not already owned by Wall Street. Can an unfunded party, that lacks the support of main street media succeed? Can a party without Wall Street backing Succeed? Time will tell.

I’ve never been so optimistic. It seems like the 60’s to me. I wish I was young again.

Who would you choose as a leader?

Meanwhile, sign up at Ernie's Place for an Occupy Redwood Drive protest. Our petition will be proof that we protested. That way we won't have to protest in the rain. The great thing is, if you don't like it, you don't have to sign. But think of all the people that wished that they had signed the Declaration of  Independence.
Just leave a comment about what you would like to make Better about America. You can even pretend that you are Thomas Jefferson and be Anonymous.

  3. These young NYC folks are organized, wired in, and in this for the long haul.

They’re between committed, dedicated, and thoroughly irritated-- in unity. I don’t think this is going away anytime soon. Especially if the widening rift between the Haves and Have-nots deepens further.

THE Occupy Wall Street General Assembly meeting is held twice a day, coordinating the Legal, Direct Action, Internet, Media, Food Kitchen, Arts and Culture, Donations and Supplies, Sanitation, Medical, Outreach, Tactical, and Town Hall working groups. I don’t know how long the protesting will last-- but the event calendar goes beyond June 2013.

2013? Can this be even remotely realistic?

TAKE a look at their New York General Assembly website to see what this is all about: the coordination, working teams, videos, and, of course, their meeting minutes for any given day. Or, glance at the other site, OccupyWallSt.org for updates and information like the sending of supplies here:

Money orders only please, cannot cash checks yet. Non-perishable goods only. We can accept packages of any size. We're currently low on food.

THIS Occupy Wall Street protest has the potential of being nothing short of amazing depending on how the economy, the anger— and the weather-- hold out.

ONE can argue that they don’t have solutions or focused ‘demands’ other than outrage. They are, however, pointing the finger squarely at both inequality and Wall Street while corporations, Democrats, Republicans, the Tea Party, and the uber-wealthy have been conveniently looking the other way. I’ll toss Sarah Palin in there, too.

I've said before that folks will never protest on any scale unless you took away their cable TV, video games, and cell phones. I might be wrong on that. This protest might have legs. Better legs than Sarah Palin?

  4. You know that this movement is scaring the hell out of the fat cats. They tried not giving it any press at first, now they are doing their best to discredit them. Hannity called then a bunch of disorganized stinking hippies, that hadn't had a shower in two weeks, and they don't even know what they are protesting. (Paraphrase)

So, you know that this protest has wings when the fat cat puppets are earning their wages.

  5. i think hank williams jr just stepped up to the plate by calling obama hitler and getting kicked off the intro to monday night football. he doesn't like any of the republican candidates or the 3 stooges, obama, biden, and the other one whose name he forgot. probably pelosi.
hank says he likes the black republican running for president the pizza ceo.
and he may be right. he seems to be the only one with any integrity. maybe hank would run for vice president to make a rare combination i would call the rainbow neck coalition.
strange to agree pretty much totally with ernie about wall street. but i'm a working man. and integrity is something wall street and politicians know nothing about. its time to regulate the banks and stop our corporations from outsourcing our jobs.

  6. Donald Trump also agrees with us. He said that the protest is legitimate. He said that they have every right to protest, due to the shape that America is in. He said that the countries that America has chosen to do business with have not treated us fairly. (paraphrase)

  7. Fox News Shawn Hannity says that the people on the street are “protesting Capitalism“. I hope that is not true. I think Capitalism is great as long as in has a few rules and boundaries. Only an idiot could not see that Wall Street has corruption. Plus, we’re are in bed with communist ruled countries, with no fair trade agreements. After the last depression there were anti-monopoly laws and anti-trust agreements.

Banks and Insurance companies are out of control. They own everything including our politicians.

If this movement gets momentum, I expect a few people to try to get out in front of it. The first thing that the protesters need to do is control their crowds. They will be infiltrated by “Plants” displaying racism and foolishness for the pure reason to discredit the group.

I would be very afraid of a “Democrat” or a “Republican” We don’t need any more politics as usual. But, they are going to need a leader that truly wants to help America. However, even Ross Perot was scared off. This is going to get interesting. You heard it here first folks!

  8. Ernie, the Grove will decide this. Not the mob. Ask your friend! Really ask him!
    Its always been the 1%
    The Grove!

I know that you are right. A lot of very conservative ideas come out of the Bohemian Grove group. But not all are completely greedy. My friend is a very honorable and benevolent man. He would not be my friend if he wasn’t. Having said that, you should be warned that he says that energy is going to become an extreme premium. Save your gold, you are going to need it.

  10. Ernie, its not conservative or liberal. Its Class. The members call themselves (Pluralists)! The 1 and the 99! There are sub clubs at the grove. The Texas oil men call themselves the Hillbilly s. There is greed in all facets of life. But the Grove is not a club! It a collective! They all have individual lives like your friend. But they believe in the power of information. And the class power of the collective. Required reading as a member is a book called The Richest Man in Babylon. The grove uses old jewish law that there were two classes: Jews and Gentiles the 99. The Grove adopted this class ruling over the years. Now members of the Grove control with this class status as their charter. In their eyes you and I don't exist.

  11. Ernie... Let me help you believe! Back when bush was president. The Grove wanted a seat vote in southDakota to go a certain way. The Grove had bush contact MR. Arkley and three members to form a ghost concerned citizens group and spend 200 million in TV spots to ruin the personal credibility of the predetermined looser. If your friend trusts you. He will say it so. The hammer test!!!
P.S. The club won't allow investment bankers to be members.

  12. My friend's father, who brought my friend into the Grove WAS an investment banker, among other things.

You know too much! Keep looking over your shoulder and take care of yourself!

At 4:30 in the afternoon the 99% will march in solidarity with Occupy Wall Street from Foley Square to the Financial District, where their pensions have disappeared to, where their health has disappeared to.
