Osama Bin Laden Is Dead!

Is there a time to kill?  Yes.
R.I.P- FDNY

Great day in the mourning
Is there a time to kill? As I ponder what has just happened, Osama Bin Laden has been killed, I wonder if what I’m feeling is okay? A man, a human being has been killed. Something deep inside of me says that killing should be wrong, and I should not be happy. Well, I can’t be happy because, with me, the feeling of watching those twin towers collapse on all of the humanity comes flooding back. Then I remember the reason that the towers came tumbling down. Knowing that Bin Laden is dead is bitter-sweet, knowing what all of the widows, orphans, and survivors of Bin Laden’s carnage must be feeling right now, I’m sure that most are in tears.

I remember the first time that Bin Laden’s minions bombed the twin towers by parking a truck-load of explosives in the basement. Six people were killed, but the towers stood. President Clinton told Bin Laden that “You can run, but you can’t hide, America will hunt you down.” Then President Bush took on the hunt when Bin Laden destroyed the towers on 9/11 2001. Now Obama has seen the end of Bin Laden. It will be one of the high points of his carreer. He was right to say that our battle is not with Islam, but with Al Qaeda. Our battle should always be on the side of good, and against "Evil Doers", as George Bush would say.

I remember Oliver North before the senate hearings. He was being questioned, his reply is rumored to be as follows:

'Did you not recently spend close to $60,000
for a home security system?'

Oliver replied, 'Yes I did sir.'

The senator continued, trying to get a laugh
out of the audience,
'Isn't this just a little excessive?'

'No sir,' continued Oliver.

'No. And why not?'

'Because the life of my family and I were threatened.'

'Threatened? By who.'

'By a terrorist, sir.'

'Terrorist? What terrorist could possibly scare
you that much?'

'His name is Osama bin Laden.'

At this point the senator tried to repeat the
name, but couldn't pronounce it, which most
people back then probably couldn't. A couple
of people laughed at the attempt. Then the senator
continued.

'Why are you so afraid of this man?'

'Because sir, he is the most evil person alive
that I know of.'

'And what do you recommend we do about him?'

'If it were me I would recommend an assassin
team be formed to eliminate him and his men
from the face of the earth.'

The senator disagreed with this approach and that
was all they showed of the clip.

It's scary when you think 15 years ago the
government was aware of Osama bin Laden
and his potential threat to the security of the world.
I guess like all great tyrants they start small but if
left untended spread like the virus they truly are.

Bin laden was also behind the other attacks on the Pentagon, and flight 93 that killed Humboldt County’s own Richard Guadagno from Arcata.

So, it is with some soul searching that that I find that it is okay to be satisfied that Bin Laden is dead. There is a time to kill. If not only for revenge, but to assure the free world that we will be protected from such evil people.

  1. i think ernie is on to something here. i don't really have time to read all the conspiracy theories about how north, bin laden, and the bush's were in bed together back in the iran contra days. what is amazing is that inspite of 11 billion in profits reported by exxon for the last quarter of 2011, all of these arab dictators that the cia has supported for years are going down the tubes because of facebook, twitter and a few navy seals.

  2. Is it time to kill bin laden? Sure! The US supported him with stingers and RPGs for ten years to fight the Russions on horse back. The CIA needs him dead. Dead men tell no lies! There's a piece in the bible that says; They cried peace, PEACE! Then sudden Distruction! Let's see how GREED does this Decade!

  3. Ernie,do realize that a big,big part of why he was killed instead of detained and given a trial was because he wasn't going to keep his mouth shut about the U.S. governments compliance in allowing the attacks to be carried out.Just saying.Obama and his family have a lot of close connections to the Bush family.

  4. Al three are valid opinions, and I certainly respect everybody's opinion, but mine is pretty well thought out, and it is personal.

I don't expect everyone to agree with me. I also understand that politics makes for strange bedfellows. Osama Bin Laden was a man, and men have free will. Many of us would not have done the things that he did for the United States, or for Russia, Or Al Qaeda, but Bin Laden did.

Bin Laden ordered the attack on American and we killed him, that simple fact is okay with me. I also understand that there is the possibility of a great deception, including that we really have no proof that Bin Laden was killed. For all we know he may have been given a new identity and he is living in Crawford Texas.

As long as the world keeps turning and I keep hearing the things that I want to hear, I'll be fine. The rest of the people of the world will have to deal with their own demons in their own way.

  5. Ernie you said for me to never cut you any slack. So your glad bin laden. Good, so am I and for the same reasons. But you don't get off by escaping to your own little world. You must think the civil war was about saving negros. Five Hundred thousand men died and we did it to ourselves. We killed our own! No Al Queda was involved. We did it to our selves. War always equals money and power.Urban Dictionary; NARROW MINDED, A person or persons who cannot see beyond their own set of values! What size did you say you wore?

I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even the enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that." ~MLK

  8. I like the MLK quote. Didn't know he was still alive. The last sentence could have come from bin laden; hate can't stop hate, only love can. That's why we killed him. Bin laden was loving the murders he planned. MLK was on a mission from God. Bin Laden only thought he was. False prophets always get what's coming to them. Bin Laden is only one of many to follow. Sleep good now. Watch and listen. If we only killed bin laden for the Firemen that died. It was justified!

I can't argue with your last comment.

We are all born innocent, we choose the path we take in life, and untimatly we choose who we are.

Even the worse monster has some goodness, but Bin Laden sold his honor for power, then he used his power for evil. The world is a better place without him.

Martin luther King on the other hand is one of my heros. Not becauce of his religion, but because he chose a path of good in his life, and he was a man of charactor.

  10. Martin Luther King did not say that. He said some of it but definitely not the first sentence.

  11. i don't think he said any of it. show me the photos. an old persian saying. "the darker the night, the more stars you can see"

  12. "...Why should we love our enemies? The first reason is fairly obvious. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Hate multiplies hate, violence multiplies violence and toughness multiplies toughness in a descending spiral of destruction. ..."

  13. If you read the words of King, you will find a remarkable similarity to Abraham Lincoln. Plus you will find some Shakespeare. He must have been greatly influenced be what he read.

  14. back in my baseball days, mlk was shot. i was riding my bike towards the ball park when a group of black kids ran toward me shouting that they were going to get me. i was able to turn my bike around and beat them out of there. but for years, i met angry black people who felt that it was ok to be angry and hateful. i met very few who actually walked the talk. but it only takes a few. a person who believes like martin luther king has a profound influence on the world. i was raised to respect all people. my mom thought the diggers was a tribe of indians and my grandma used the n work into her 90's but i grew up watching my dad fix a black families toilet at two in the morning and he never worried about being paid. i get a lot of flack from my relatives because they think i like and voted for obama. the way i look at it. i can't help the fact that my parents did a good job raising me.
they taught me to do the right thing. and no, i don't hate any race or any one. i choose not to.
9/11 had a profound effect on my life, the following mothers day my wife of 25 years told me she was moving to florida and getting married. on the same day, dove's husband, a navy seal in nam, died in a boating accident. i saw a video of him crying about all the people he killed in nam. he had tried to make amends until the accident. but i think he is proud of being a navy seal again. the effect of 9/11 on my life at the time seemed like a terrible thing and i was deeply in shock. but i realize now, that it probably saved my life and my life continues to be more wonderful each day. i was looking for words like, it's always darkest before the dawn or basically that we trust in life and what happens even though we may color it in a negative light at the time. get me.

  16. The question is - if you had caught him in the act of placing the bomb, would you have shot him then? The answer is yes. That he managed to hide for all this time does not mean anything more than justice was delayed. There's nothing wrong with being glad he is dead. He killed or caused to be killed countless people. He and his strung our soldiers up and hung the mutilated bodies, they sawed off Nicholas Berg's and Daniel Pearl's heads on camera, and broadcast it with all the screams to the world. That's how they used YouTube.

Sorry he's dead? No way in hell.

we weren't just waterboarding them. they were trying everything. meditation, remote viewing, you name it. jim thought of this psi stuff while fighting the buddists in nam. he's still oo the payroll.
