I have been accused of HATEing Al Gore. That came as quite a shock to me, because I don't believe that I openly hate anyone. What I do hate is BAD SCIENCE. I'm fairly naïve so I have a tendency to believe what people tell me. Because I know that I believe most things that I am told, I do what Ronald Regan said to do; “Trust, but verify”. I already know most of what Al Gore is puffing and blowing about, so it comes across as being really bad science to me. The other thing that bothers me, is somebody called me “Professor Ernie”. Like you had to be the head of a college level class room to have common sense. I'm shocked by what some people will believe on faith. People have faith in Al Gore, and they just don't want to take the time to do the science.
Most of the stuff that Al Gore pushes before us is bad science. Part of what bothers me the most is that he never cites studies that have been done, so other scientists can verify the science. Just like his “Hockey Stick Graph” turned out to be phony. I think that most of what he has to say is hockey puckey.
Just like in most cases, I think that his arrogance will bring him down. He is standing on a castle of cards. Soon the science that he based all of his dire predictions on will prove him wrong.
The scientists that said he was wrong lost their funding. I think that they will soon be funded again when it comes to public light that his “Scientists" are using made-up science.
Rose has been working much harder than me at finding his bad science. I recommend reading her blog. Click below:

maybe they said you were posing as a professor cuz you told us that Gore "doesn't even get a D- in science.."

Ernie, get a grip. Big Al doesn't believe that stuff he spews either. He is in it for money and power.

In Oregons case it might also indicate "fullness".
ReplyDeleteIt was always strange to me that the Newcomers didn't understand that most of our food was real pretty, and a man has to do what a man has to do.
The last two deer that I shot were real bad shots and I darn near killed myself chasing them down. Dropping the hammer on those big brown eyes was one of the hardest things that I've ever had to do. My wife noticed that I was out of sorts while I was cleaning the deer, and she asked be what was wrong. I told her that I just don't like killing things. She said, "Well, why don't you quit?"
Just to show you how into things that you can be, when you have to do something that you don't like, it really had never occured to me that I didn't have to hunt.
But if somebody else is willing to do the killin', I'll do the eatin".

ReplyDeleteGeez, they were shooting back??
And who are the "Newcomers" (capital N)?? Did you mean the Newcombes? Don Newcombe is the only Newcombe of whom I'm aware but he pitched for the Cleveland Indians, not Hoopa. His nickname was Newk, so perhaps you're getting him mixed up with Duke Nukem, who is an eco-villain capable of spreading radioactivity across the earth. This must surely trouble Captain Planet, played by Al Gore.
Oh, Professor Branscomb? When you're done with the science lecture, please report to English class and take your seat.
ReplyDeleteSorry, we dont speak English on this blog. We speak South Fork Of The Eel River Lingo. It's much easier to use. You only have to come close enough for the reader to figure out for themselve what you are trying to say.

Sorry about the "Word Varification" thing. I'm getting hit hard by spammers in the back pages, and this is supposed to kill them.
ReplyDeleteAs this (admittedly dorky) dude says, "All reasonable people should be able to admit to the possibility that they might have a mistaken understanding about reality." Your opinion of Al Gore (or mine or anyone else's) ultimately matters not at all.

ReplyDeleteWhy Al Gore doesn't matter
ReplyDeleteI made it into a link for you Ryan. All opinions are gladly accepted here.
The falacy in the plan is that there is no science saying what might really happen. If we are having global warming, what if anything can be done about it? Global warming has been happening steadily for the past 22,000 years. It has only tapered off in the last 2,000 years.
The story about the bad data that global warming was based on, and the disagreements over whether or not it was really our fault, disappeared with the news that the atmospheric C02 levels are up. Damn convienient press release.
Anyway, I will stop wetting my pages with ink about Al Gore. But of course, I still think that Al is a Carpetbagger, and global warming is happening but it is not man caused.
POLAR bears face a new threat besides melting ice — male grizzly bears are moving into their territories, competing for food and are even mating with their females. Scientists have already discovered one case of a hybrid “grolar” bear and are circulating requests to hunters and polar tour operators to look out for more. One possible explanation for closer interaction between the species is Climate Change, which has allowed grizzlies to move north into areas that were once too...

Anyone old enough to remember when planned obsolescence was a hot topic?
ReplyDeleteBack then, before they took critical thinking out of the schools, we were told that neccessary and unneccesary stuff was getting purposefully manufactured to only last so long, and then it would break, just so we could buy it again. Ain't crapitalism great! We get to use up natural resources over and over just to keep those dollars flowing, mostly upwards.
Of course you don't hear much about that concept anymore, now we have China to make all our stuff and compete with us for the limited resources of the world to do while polluting rampantly. Not one mention of making things better to last longer to use less resources. That would be an efficient use of finite planetary resources, but no industrialist is going to go for that.
The environmental issues of the day are being framed as global warming or climate change. I have read where half of the mercury in Oregon's rivers comes from Chinese emissions. That is sobering to me.
I suspect that we won't have such rosey terms as global warming or climate change in the future when we look back at this time period of Indian and China ramping up their industries, repeating all of our cost cutting industrial policies and spewing poisons into the air and water. Whilst carbon emission get the media spotlight, the other greenhouse gases are ruining the upper atmospheric layers and take decades and longer to stop their action. We are certainly experiencing climate changes, perhaps cyclical, probably driven by the sun, but this is still a period of time that should be called the Poisoning of the Planet. We should be screaming about rising cancer rates, brain damaged young, and increased auto immune system diseases all of which reflect a toxic crapitalistic system gone mad.
Okay, I might agree with some of that. You give things much deeper thought than our regular "anonymous". Are you new here?

I can think of few other situations that demonstrate the mass duplicity of our own citizenry than the prevailing ho-hum indifference to the breach of Gov. Sarah Palin’s personal email account. I would say the same thing if it were Barak Obama who suffered this crime. No matter where you position yourself in the political spectrum, this crime is cause for grave concern by all of us, and the perpetration of the crime should be met with unrepentant outrage, not with the ravenous glee I see coming from so many places."
this is from september 18th 2008.
this is what rush limbaugh was saying back then and now just over a year later he has totally reversed his view about hacking into peoples emails just like a few others have around here.
whatever. personally i don't really believe in the doom and gloom, 2012, armageddon, global warming, end of the world mania.
and i don't listen to the hate mongering politicos backed by big oil either. where i live, a city councilman passed on a few obama jokes in emails to fellow city and county officals. someone ratted him off and now the naacp and others are demanding that he resign from office. it's cost the city over $80,000 in attorneys fees and time to deal with this and people are still planning to protest until he resigns. this man is really a nice person and has performed a lifetime of service to the community as a fireman, volunteer fireman, mason, and in many other ways. the good thing is, he is stubborn and retired and not about to resign. so this email hacking thing just seems to make people like palin, the coucilman, and now gore stronger in the long run. so good luck with your vendetta.

I'm glad suzy finally added her picture. I've never seen her so I was curious. From her coarse writings, she induced me to visualize Dirty Sally from the old Gunsmoke western. I particularly liked it when Sally missed the spittoon with her chewing tobacco. I don’t know if she would’ve had the same typing style as Suzy though, where all the misspelled words distract from any sense she might be trying to convey. Sally did favor a good snort out of the jug though, which would explain a lot about Suzy’s uniqueness with the English language: “bueatiful yuo teh argee sposd pollictcal" (Now, who can argue with that?) At least she spells the profanities correctly. Must be a gift.

ReplyDeleteHouse of cards is right. Actually more like false and manipulated data, All revealed, whether by hacker, insider/whistleblower or accidental opening of server files...
ReplyDeleteThe biggest news story of the day is one that has barely begun to break and will continue to reverberate for months or years to come. Someone hacked into a computer at the University of East Anglia's Hadley Climatic Research Centre, one of the main centers of anthropogenic global warming research. The hacker downloaded over 200 megabytes of data from the server, consisting of around 1,000 emails and a variety of other documents. He uploaded them to an FTP server, where they were available to the public, apparently, for only a few hours. The event is described here.
Before the documents disappeared from that location, several people had downloaded them and posted them in other locations. I downloaded all of the material earlier today and have begun to review it. The emails are stunning....
A fascinating, hot-off-the-presses story emerges from the emails that were hacked yesterday from the University of East Anglia's Hadley Climatic Research Centre. It is one of many exchanges that shed light on the priority that the global warming alarmists give to politics and career advancement over science.
The story began when Steve McIntyre, the same researcher who was largely responsible for destroying Michael Mann's "hockey stick" graph purporting to show unprecedented warming in the 20th century, turned his attention to a famous article published by Keith Briffa of East Anglia's CRU in 2000. This article analyzed the diameters of tree rings, including rings from an area called Yamal in Siberia, and conveniently generated another hockey-stick shaped graph. You can read an account of the ensuing controversy here. McIntyre's work appeared to show that Briffa had cherry-picked trees in order to get the result he was looking for. One fact that this story highlights is that global warming alarmists publish their results in scientific journals, but refuse to make the underlying data publicly available so that the validity of their analyses can be checked.
McIntyre's revelations caused a firestorm of controversy, in response to which the alarmist community circled its wagons to fend off the threat from an outsider. This process can be clearly seen in the East Anglia emails....

ReplyDeleteI am misunderstood too. Some think I am brain dead because I lived on the banks of the Chetco River in Oregon for 3 years. ps Your hat looks like a big version of that thing my grandma kept her sewing needles in.
Oregon, i think the reason there hacking into yuor emails is maybe becuz you posted that you were looking at some phesants and so therefore they connected you to Palin. Its all part of a big conspriacy to warm the globe so they can make more money from there fake sun screen saver lotion. Suzy can do with out all the bs, thank you, and i like the temperature just fine the way it is no matter how many typos these fucking no accuont hackers make us make.
ReplyDeleteNobody is posting here so I will tell a story about how it was back then in the Eel River Valley.
ReplyDeleteI was looking through my cook book this morning and I see a recipe for baked crow, it's a wild game cook book. No, I'm not going to kill the pheasants. Where was I? Oh yeah, back to the book, it has a good sounding recipe for muskrat in there too but you have to soak the rat over night in a salt solution. By the way I do have a dead turkey in the fridge for Thursday. Anyway, the crow recipe says that the young crows are better. Boy!! That's an understatement! One time my wife and I went to a dance in Alderpoint with Sonny Lawson and his wife. Back when the road was still dirt and had to go through Harris as there was not cutoff in those days. Well Sonny brought a quart of Old Crow! I was sick for 3 days.

ReplyDeleteI have breaking news for you!
Al Gore has been compleatly exposed!
A new growing scandal being dubbed "climategate" just broke 1-2 days ago. 1000's of Top U.N. e-mails have been leeked. The documents expose Conspiracy, collusion in exaggerating warming data, possibly illegal destruction of embarrassing information, organised resistance to disclosure, manipulation of data, private admissions of flaws in their public claims and much more. This proved that global warming has been based on junk science!
Search Google or Yahoo for "Climategate" and you will return 1000's of results.
here is some articles i found myself

Also people should search for Al gore ken lay"
Also if everyone is not already aware of it, al gore met with ken lay "former enron CEO" and various people from Goldman & Sachs to develop a carbon tax and trade system. This is essentialy a huge ponzie scheam that would alow them to create a huge international buracracy to regulate cabon emmisions in a way that would alow the rich to buy as many as they need while limiting the resources of the poor on the planet to a quota system and untimatly a carbon tax's on additional children that you have! Dont belive me do some research for yourself!
I told my partner the other day, "Honey, you are gettin' a little spammers in the back pages"...
ReplyDeleteShe called me a no account hacker as I lay on the couch coughing medecinally. I hadn't felt right since I drank that Oregon river water on our last vacation. I was watching cartoons... Big Eco-Daddy El Boro was fighting Duke-Nukem and his Chinese Factory Smokestack Hordes, when there was a solar flare that knocked out all the satellites with a huge EMP.
"WOW! That'll quiet all those typospamming-pink tuna eating-Commies! Power to the bueatiful pheasants." I chortled aloud..
" Wahoo! No more online comment grades, no more scaring hunters with stories of deer that shoot back, serious blog thinkers will have to go to Deep-Anon groups, Aunt Sally Blah Blah can snort whiskeye, wear a squash fer a hat and get coarse in peace, an' grolar bares can go nekkid without earthgoogle-oogling, and people will haveta back out of parking spots without the use of a cell phone in one hand..." and then I remembered there'd be no Ernie's Place to read and I got real sad. The end.
off topic, suzy's looking for some 12 to 15inch sewing needles to, stick in my hat.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the links. I made then into hyperlinks that you can just click on. I put the latest one on top.
Sadly, I really don't expect any lids to come off over this. There is already damage control going on. I’m pretty sure mainstream media has been scared away from this with the fear of lawsuits. The emails were obtained illegally. The big money is in Global Warming. There is no wealth in saying that this is a normal warming cycle.
Plus, I really don’t want to add to the hysteria. What will be will be. We should all be concerned about our jobs going to China, who are major poluters. We have no choice now but to buy their products because we don’t make all that much stuff anymore.

i thought Suzy's hat was one of those love rings the coneheads used to toss on each other but i didn't want anyone to think she was an alien because then they might start calling her a newcomer. also, it looks like she's going to have a bunch of sugar plums dancing around her head by xmas. sextuplits. but. then upon closer review it said, squashedhat. so i guess we have more in common than i thought. back when i was a kid, my mom the mean school principal used to say after i asked to be excused from the dinner table, "eat that squash or you'll be wearing it."
ReplyDeletei'm amazed at all the posts by oregon. i guess i will have to go up to medford and drink some of that river water. there's a movie out on video called the ugly truth. i thought it was another documentary from al gore, but its got this hot looking babe on it.
ReplyDeletei imagine that when gore lost the election by a few votes, it was just too much for his harvard ego to bear. so thats why he is saving the world for us. my 98 year old dad did the same thing when my mother died. he started telling everyone that he gave her all the great ideas that she was able to manifest.
i'm really glad that this global warming thing is turning out to be a big hoax. now i don't have to buy that expensive air conditioning system everyone was saying i would need.
Ernie, I sure wish you'd find a way to edit postings containing the "F" word so I could recommend this blog to some of my friends.
ReplyDeleteanyone upset by the use of the word fuck probably hasn't done it in years..
ReplyDeleteCripes! I thought that Anon was talking about “f” like in “Fred” at Fred's Humboldt Blog
ReplyDeletePoor Fred, he is trying to solve the garbage on the streets problem, while we are trying to clean up the garbage on the blogs problem.
I should start by saying that I was raised around swearing on the male side of my whole family, while nobody in the female side ever swears. Swearing was an outdoors, woods, and barnyard thing. It wasn’t to be brought into the house. My grandmother Ruby always said, very emphatically; “that kind of language stays in the barnyard, it doesn’t belong in the house”. My mother Elsie says that she would “swear if she had to, but there would have to be a damn good reason”. She says that “if you cuss all the time, it doesn’t mean anything when you have to.”
Myself, I swear a little, but I try to keep it in “the barnyard” and away from polite company or people that I don’t know that well. I’m able to keep my swearing with-in these boundaries. My wife almost never swears anymore. When we first started dating she had a liberal sprinkling of “salt” in her verbage, but now you would think that she was freakin’ Queen Victoria or something. She almost never swears.
Personally I don’t much care what language some people use, if it’s part of who they are. Actually, anonymous comments bother me more than rough language. I think that in all the time that I have had this blog I’ve only deleted just a few personal attacks. The language doesn’t bother me. I don’t mind people hiding their identity, but iwish they would adopt a consistant identity so I could know one from the other. Like the person that doesn’t like the “F words” on this blog could just call themselves “Prudie” or something. That way we could all know who we are talking to.
What Anon should do is go ahead and recommend this blog to her/his friends, but tell them that “bad words” appear occasionally, and to ignore them and to not repeat them in the house or around polite company.
i didn't feel like reading through 37 posts!!! BUT ANYWAY!
