From the CA. state Archives, Indian Wars. (Revised)

I made a very long post here, which was a direct "Cut an Paste" from the California State Archives. It was tedious to read , and was mostly for students of the early Eel River Valley. It was also hard to load for people with "dial up modems". I apologize, But at least it brought Ekovox out of hiding long enough to give some sage advice.

The following is a link to California Indian Wars.

Sorry!
Ernie

Wonderful archive. In the bottom of the post, Jarboe is most often mentioned as having 20 or so men in the Rangers, and asks for more. Here the beginning article states that he had 40 men in the command. These are the kind of details that it will take an archivist getting into the many boxes of Jarboe correspondences to straighten out.
Wish that was me!

Well, It looks like the state of California has all of those details.

They appear to be in numbered folders locked away somewhere.

Geez Ernie, posting the Encyclopedia Britannica may have been shorter. Ha!

You are absolutly right, Not many people will read this. Maybe I should have posted a warning at the top that this was for a select fer researchers.

I promise that I will be on to very much lighter subjects!

Oh, by the way, HI!

I love North American history and try to read as much as possible on the subject matter. Currently I would have to say that my favorite book to date is George Feldman's book "Cannibalism, Headhunting and Human Sacrifice in North America: A History Forgotten." I didn’t know our early pious settlers were head-hunters. I found your suggested article to be equally as intriguing. Thanks.
