Arrrgh!!!

Well I've suceded in screwing up two postings in a row. One was some darn good stuff, but I don't have a clue what happened to it. I'm not going to tell you what it was, because I'm just going to start over, Darn!

The next was one that I started at work and decided to finish at home, but the computer at home won't open the files that I need. So I'll just have to go in early to finish it. The problem is, I wanted to finish one before the other. Oh well.

The next time I get a computer I'm going to get one with everything already on it. That must be the plot... To get me to spend a bazillion bucks on a computer.

I always do everything in my word processor because it is less likely to get lost, but when I came home tonight to finish the story that I had started, there was nothing there... Gone, whoosh... Just like I hadn't even been there...

Please tell me that I am not the only one that looses things on a computer.

The bueaty of it is, that I get paid the same weather I catch all of the typo's or not.

A klutz's best friend is to remember to hit CONTROL "Z" to undo what was just done. It works enough times to save you from these disasters that you should try it.

Bless you Chris Crawford!

Ps. Sorry you lost some work Ernie...that is a bad feeling and I do sympathize.
It is a betrayal kind of feeling.

Ernie its good to know that you get paid the same weather... it'd be totally inconvenient to expect a sunny day and get paid rain instead.

did you try systems restore?

start / performance and maintenance / systems restore

I'd avoid System Restore unless you absolutely have to use it.

I used it once when I replaced a modem driver (at Microsoft's suggestion- it was a suggested Windows Update) and my modem stopped working. Not knowing how else to get back online I used system restore.

Major hassle ensued with having to update certain programs all over again. Computer didn't seem the same for quite some time.

Fred, I agree. System Restore is a good idea that so far has never worked right for me.
